Guest post of the week by Nestor Nielsen
I was really new to the internet when I got www.SatelliteStarINTERNET.Com satellite at my house mostly because I just didn’t have a lot of use for it before. I live out in the wilderness, more or less, and it’s hard for me to imagine a day that goes by where I’m not outside over 12 hours a day. Eventually though email became something I was really missing out on and I had to do some social networking to try and talk to the guy I liked in town and before long I was online all the time. I really wish someone had come to teach me the nuances of being on the web but I’m picking it up bit by bit and am even considering buying a book on HTML so I can learn a few more things about how this whole setup works! I got a new laptop, too, so it’s been nice using a tool that’s as up to date as possible since if it went slower I probably would have thrown it out the window.
For businesses looking to acquire more customers online, one of the best ways to do this is through search engine optimization, which allows you to perform well in search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. Search engine optimization, or SEO, is a complex process that when implemented successfully, allows you to receive “free” – or organic – traffic through the major search engines.
The process works like this: you create a website and optimize it to seem related to a specific keyword or set of keywords. If you have a blog about fishing, for example, you’d like to optimize to show up in search engines when people search for keywords related to fishing.
That is the basic overview, and from there, things get gradually more complicated: in fact, it can often take years to learn SEO, so instead of putting the time and resources to learn this long, exaggerated process, you can hire an SEO company that will effectively promote and optimize your business to show up for targeted keywords.
Why hire an SEO company? Simply put, they will be able to use their knowledge and resources to make the most of your time and money. SEO is a very long-term process and is forever ongoing, so instead of being stuck at certain stages along the way, an SEO agency can get you past these roadblocks throughout the lifetime of your website.
When we created this website, we had a few goals in mind. The first one was to share with others our love of Facebook games. The next was to try to reach as many people as possible – and not just the people that already know and love Facebook games, but those who haven’t enjoyed the games as much as they should – or those who haven’t enjoyed them at all!
So we looked around for SEO companies to help us rank well. We spent quite a bit of time researching each company, its reviews and its tactics, and after coming to an agreement with my business partner, we decided to go with the one that best matched our needs.
The SEO company we chose was great – they listened to our goals and quickly developed an SEO strategy that covered all the bases. We were going to be able to hit our target audience on the budget that worked for us, and our SEO company had the incentive of doing extra well because we said we didn’t mind paying bonuses for great performance.
It was a mutually beneficial relationship that worked out well for everyone involved: we got the exposure and SEO promotion we wanted, and the SEO company got a great client that was aligned with the way they did business. All in all, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

We typically discuss the various Facebook games available online at this blog, but today I want to talk about something that’s related but on a slight tangent, and that’s what I wear when I’m playing these Facebook games.
Usually, when I get home from work, I’m wearing scrubs (I work in an urgent care center) and because they are so comfortable, I don’t always take them off right away. Instead, I’ll keep them on, stay comfortable and play a few Facebook games on my laptop.
The scrubs I wear are from Blue Sky Scrubs, available at http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/. My mom got me hooked on them a few years ago – she’s a nurse and always had the inside scoop on good scrubs. Now, I can’t remember a time I haven’t been in scrubs, it seems like before, after and during work, I’m in my scrubs and I love how they feel.
Playing games or doing anything in the house requires relaxation and comfort. With Blue Sky Scrubs, you can get both: their soft, high quality scrubs are durable yet soft enough to put even the toughest Facebook gamer to comfort. If I didn’t know better, I would’ve thought these scrubs were made from fibers of angel’s hair, but in reality, they are just really great scrubs, and that’s all there is to it.

When I’m not playing Facebook games, chances are, I’m cleaning around the house, trying to keep things tidy. I’m not OCD or anything like that, but I enjoy being in a clean, relaxed environment, so I like to keep up with the maintenance and make sure my home is always comfortable.
Here in Austin, we get a lot of storms and dusty areas, so it’s important to stay on top of the usual cleaning duties, as well as deep cleaning, which should happen just about every season. I typically find rug cleaning prices Austin and get a good idea of how much it’s going to cost to clean my rugs and other carpet materials, then put together a cleaning budget and see where I can go from there.
One of the most helpful and highest quality companies I’ve worked with so far is The Steam Team. A few summers ago, I had a slight flooding problem and they were right there to offer water extraction services, which I found at http://www.thesteamteam.com/water-extraction.shtml. Should you ever need water extraction, deep cleaning or restoration services, I would highly recommend The Steam Team for anyone in the Austin area.

Coming Soon.

From the makers of Braaains!, MyTown, Office Wars and Ninja Warz, Broken Bulb Game Studios is reportedly gearing up to release its next game “Miscrits” in the near future. We will keep you posted as soon as we find out any further details on the game or its release date.

Spore Islands is the stand-alone Facebook cousin of Will Wright’s 2008 game franchise, Spore. Your role in Spore Islands is to create creatures aptly named Spores and unleash them on your own island or the islands of Facebook friends’. After deploying your Spore, you can run “observations” and watch your Spore in action competing with other Spores for resources. At the end of each observation, the winning Spore is granted an experience bonus. If this brief synopsis of Spore Islands sounds very mechanical, it is because Spore Islands is more of a simulation than it is a game. This level of simulation may be appealing to the thick-glass-wearing-number-crunching-math-geniuses amongst us but may not be enough to entice the typical Facebook gamer.
